Infertility and Acupuncture
Our acupuncturists treat patients at OsteoMed II for infertility. Kirsten Ericson has had great success rate even without other treatment methods. Many patients even attribute their pregnancies to her acupuncture.
According to the principles of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture works by increasing energy flow along pathways referred to as meridians. Using acupuncture as an adjunct to infertility treatments balances the body’s energy and increases the blood flow through the uterus, optimizing the condition of the organ for implantation. Without other therapies, most patients undergo treatments once a week for three months or until they become pregnant. When used in conjunction with in-vitro fertilization, an acupuncture treatment is given just before and after an embryo is transferred.
Acupuncture has no known negative side effects, but positive affects abound. Acupuncture can ease painful periods, increase energy, reduce stress, and improve your sex drive.
More and more people are coming to OsteoMed II for acupuncture because they prefer a natural approach or to complement other fertility methods they are using.

Acupuncture & Infertility
Results from a recent study indicate that adding acupuncture to in-vitro fertilization treatments greatly enhances a women’s chances of becoming pregnant.
The study that appeared in the Journal of Fertility and Sterility followed a group of 160 patients who were undergoing in-vitro fertilization. Of the patients who had received acupuncture during in vitro, 34 out of 80 became pregnant, as compared to the control group (in vitro alone) whose success rate was 21 out of 80.
