JMT: for arthritis and chronic pain

What is JMT?
A therapy has been discovered that has been shown to significantly reduce and sometimes eliminate pain and symptoms of autoimmune diseases, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. This method is called JMT, which is named after its founders: Carolyn Jaffe, Ph.D. and Doctor of Acupuncture and Judith Mellor, RN, Ph.D.

Many conditions and types of arthritis are classified as autoimmune. Generally, these are degenerative conditions caused by an immune system that no longer recognizes its own tissues and organs as “self.” Symptoms produced include muscle and joint pain, stiffness and restricted movement

JMT offers hope without the use of drugs. Through years of clinical research, Drs. Jaffe and Mellor have discovered that the presence of a specific entity or pathogen they term an “External Pathogenic Factor” (EPF) is at the heart of arthritis. JMT treatments focus on deactivating the pathogen “EPF” which is causing the disease process. The next step is to “retrain” the immune system to stop attacking its own organs and tissues. The body can then begin to repair cartilage and worn tissues.

JMT practitioners have found that after eight, 15-minute treatments their patient’s pain is much improved or completely resolved. Similar to the NAET, BioSET and SRT allergy elimination techniques, JMT uses kinesiology (muscle testing) to identify the pathogen. A special technique using acupressure is used to effectively “deactivate” the pathogen. As specific acupressure points are stimulated, old information is exchanged for new, and the inflammation within the immune system stops. The hyperactive response is calmed, and the body heals naturally.

Reports from Jaffe and Mellor show that more than 75% of the symptoms of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis were resolved, and that this resolution appeared permanent based on follow-up evaluations conducted up to 18 months later. People suffering from Crohn’s disease, lupus and MS have also benefited substantially from JMT treatments.

Dr. Clay Walsh  is one of the 500 practitioners across the country trained in the Jaffe Mellor Technique and uses the technique extensively in his practices at OsteoMed II.
